1. OBJET

1. PURPOSE

SWISSDIAG PRO provides functions for reading and analysing automotive diagnostic data, reading DTCs, recording data and trips, generating reports and, depending on the licence and packs purchased, extended manufacturer diagnostics.

2. DIAGNOSTIC AID

Information, scores, DTC labels, possible causes, recommendations, graphs and reports supplied by SWISSDIAG are diagnostic aids. They are not a safety certification, statutory vehicle inspection, guaranteed mechanical expertise or official manufacturer instruction.

A DTC indicates a condition or diagnostic area and does not by itself prove that a part named by the code must be replaced. Values and conclusions should be confirmed using manufacturer procedures, appropriate measurements and, when necessary, a qualified professional.

3. DRIVING SAFETY

The user must not operate the application, phone, computer or OBD interface in a way that may distract from driving. Any action requiring user attention must be performed while safely stopped. The driver remains responsible for control of the vehicle and compliance with road law.

Trip notifications are local indications that may be delayed, grouped, hidden or blocked by Android. They never replace vehicle warning lamps, driver supervision, an emergency system or professional inspection. The user must stop safely before consulting an alert. Automatic trip start is not active in this version: recording begins only after an explicit action.

4. VEHICLE READ / WRITE OPERATIONS

Manufacturer functions in this version are designed primarily for read-only use. Certain standard functions, such as OBD Mode 04 clearing when offered, can modify diagnostic state and reset information or monitors. The application displays warnings before such actions. Users should preserve useful codes and data before clearing.

SWISSDIAG must not be used to bypass a secure gateway, manufacturer access control, authentication mechanism or other technical protection measure without appropriate authorisation.

5. VEHICLE, PROTOCOL AND INTERFACE COMPATIBILITY

Compatibility depends on the vehicle, model year, protocol, ECUs, firmware, OBD/VCI interface, operating system and link quality. The absence of a DTC from a partial or standard scan does not necessarily mean that no vehicle ECU contains a fault.

This version supports Bluetooth Classic/SPP and Bluetooth Low Energy for compatible adapters recognised by the application. A direct Wi-Fi TCP connection to certain ELM/STN-style interfaces is provided experimentally.

USB serial, direct DoIP/Ethernet and CAN FD are not supported in this version; the application shows them as such. Only transports whose state is explicitly shown as ACTIVE or EXPERIMENTAL in the application are usable.

This version includes no J2534, D-PDU or RP1210 link.

6. LOCAL NETWORK CONNECTIONS

The experimental Wi-Fi transport opens a direct TCP connection to the address and port provided by the user. This link may not be encrypted. The user must use it only on a trusted local network and follow the interface manufacturer's instructions.

7. DATA AND EXTERNAL SOURCES

Some ECU names or addresses may come from public standards, open-source projects, community sources or online services. SWISSDIAG keeps a confidence level and does not present a single community source as OEM proof. A source being viewable does not automatically grant redistribution rights; commercially embedded data must have provenance and rights compatible with distribution.

8. MAPPING

If a map provider is configured, its own terms, attribution, limits and privacy policy apply. Availability, imagery date, resolution and maximum zoom depend on the provider and imagery source; additional zoom does not necessarily add detail. Local GPS traces may remain available without an online map layer. The map, GPS centring and displayed positions are informational: they may be delayed or inaccurate and are not a navigation, guidance, emergency or safety-location system. The user must not operate the map while driving.

9. REPORTS

Reports reflect the information available at acquisition time. They may be incomplete when ECUs, PIDs, manufacturer functions or communications are inaccessible. Users must verify information before giving a report to a client or making a technical decision.

Synchronized charts and same-instant comparisons use only values actually received and timestamped during the trip. They may contain gaps, different sampling rates or values retained by the control unit and do not by themselves prove a causal relationship between two parameters.

DTC totals shown in reports count faults that were actually returned as faults. Supported, inventoried, historical or inactive manufacturer entries are shown separately and are not added to the actual-DTC total. When required, a report appendix lists all actual DTCs retained by the report.

10. CUSTOMER / WORKSHOP DATA

Professional users entering information about their customers are responsible for having the legal basis, notices and security measures required by applicable law.

11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, TRADEMARKS AND THIRD-PARTY LICENCES

SWISSDIAG and its own elements remain protected by applicable rights. Third-party components and data retain their respective licences. Licence notices and attribution are available in the application.

Names of vehicle, adapter or VCI manufacturers may be used only to describe technical compatibility. Unless there is an explicit written agreement, this does not imply certification, partnership or endorsement by those manufacturers.

12. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES

Functions, data sources, compatibility and Internet services may change. Third-party services may change, be suspended or become paid independently of SWISSDIAG. Bug fixes, security fixes and compatibility adaptations necessary for application operation are not intentionally conditioned on an Enhanced update subscription.

13. LICENCES, ENHANCED PACKS AND UPDATES

The FREE version remains usable with the functions included in that tier. The PRO licence, when offered as a one-time purchase, is intended to remain owned on the Google Play account after purchase, subject to applicable Google Play rules, refunds, cancellations or confirmed fraud.

Enhanced packs are separate purchases by manufacturer or manufacturer group. They provide access to manufacturer functions covered and validated by that pack. The most complete manufacturer diagnostics may require an Enhanced pack in addition to PRO.

The presence of a brand, product identifier or manufacturer source in the catalogue does not mean that every platform, model year or function is covered, or that the pack is already on sale. A public purchase is offered only for scopes that the application identifies as validated and sellable. The compatibility matrix shown before purchase forms part of the supplied-scope description; profiles marked experimental, partial coverage or not on sale yet are not a promise of future coverage.

Manufacturer packs are not on sale yet in this version: no pack purchase is offered and no subscription exists. If packs are put on sale, a purchased pack is intended to remain usable without a mandatory subscription, and the terms of its updates are stated before purchase.

14. TRIALS AND COMPATIBILITY CHECKS

This version offers no free trial of the PRO licence; PRO is acquired through a purchase on Google Play (section 15). The multi-ECU scan, with its ECU map (number of responding control units and their generic role), is available at every tier, without a purchase, as a compatibility indication; it is neither a licence nor a coverage guarantee. The raw manufacturer codes read by that scan are shown with the PRO licence. Validated manufacturer ECU names and profiles require the corresponding Enhanced pack. The compatibility indications shown before any purchase are informative and guarantee neither that every ECU will respond nor exhaustive coverage; they do not provide full manufacturer diagnostics.

15. GOOGLE PLAY PURCHASES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

Prices, taxes, renewals, payment methods, refunds and subscription management are handled by Google Play under its applicable terms. Purchase entitlements are verified with Google Play and then validated by the SWISSDIAG server-side entitlement infrastructure. Before any purchase, the user should review the product description and the compatibility indications shown in the application, in particular the ECU map of the free multi-ECU scan (section 14). Those indications are informative: they guarantee neither that every ECU will respond nor exhaustive coverage. Except where a refund is required by applicable law, granted or required by Google Play, or expressly agreed by the publisher, validly completed purchases are not subject to a voluntary refund. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights, including statutory refund, withdrawal or warranty rights where applicable.

16. LIABILITY

To the extent permitted by mandatory applicable law, the publisher does not guarantee that the application will detect every fault or that all data will be error-free.

The fault-code descriptions, diagnostic leads, repair guidance and safety warnings displayed by the application are general information, written for the standardised code space and not for a specific vehicle, model or situation. They replace neither the manufacturer's documentation, nor the vehicle's warning lights and messages, nor a professional diagnosis. Where a text recommends stopping the vehicle or having it inspected, the user assesses how it applies to their situation on their own responsibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of data, vehicle downtime, unnecessary parts replacement or other consequences arising from a decision taken solely on the basis of information provided by the application. The user remains responsible for interpreting the information displayed and for the work they decide to carry out on a vehicle.

Any exclusions or limitations in these terms do not apply where prohibited by applicable law, including liability that cannot legally be excluded.

17. GOVERNING LAW

Governing law: Swiss law.
The competent courts are determined by law. Mandatory consumer-protection rules applicable to the user remain reserved.

18. ANONYMOUS DISCOVERY REPORT AND AUTOMATIC SCAN

After a completed scan, when the vehicle is confirmed (VIN read during the current connection or vehicle chosen by the user) and its make is recognised, the application may send to the SWISSDIAG server in Switzerland the anonymous technical report described in section 9 of the privacy policy: make, model, model year, protocol, scan profile, control units queried and their reply, fault codes and their status, application version. It contains no personal data: no VIN, registration plate, location, identifier of the device, installation or account, time of the scan or typed text. In Switzerland, sending is on by default after information and can be declined on the information screen or at any time in the settings; outside Switzerland, it takes place only with the user's prior consent. Declining or withdrawing has no effect on the diagnostic functions, the licence or the packs; only the automatic scan described below does not take place. A report that could not be sent may be sent later, including in the background when the network is available again, as long as sending remains accepted; withdrawing consent deletes the pending reports. The report serves to improve vehicle support and to help check the manufacturer packs; it creates no entitlement to future coverage of a vehicle or a control unit.

When sending is accepted, the application may itself start, with the vehicle stationary and the ignition on, a read-only scan of the control units it knows for the identified vehicle, at most once every seven days per vehicle. This scan sends no clearing, coding or setting command. The driving-safety rules of section 3 apply unchanged.

1. ZWECK

17. ANWENDBARES RECHT

Anwendbares Recht: schweizerisches Recht.
